Every chapter in this innovative casebook places students in roles as practitioners handling simulated law practice problems; provides context in the form of an overview of the law, similar to that which an attorney would read before reading cases in a new subject area; includes questions designed to encourage students to find the applicable statutes and cases on point in the state where the student is planning to practice law; includes exercises, visual aids, and case reading scaffolds, designed to engage students with a wide range of learning styles; and ends with professionalism questions addressing ethical and professional identity questions suggested by the materials in the chapter. The second edition retains the style, format, and teaching and learning goals of the first edition, but some cases have been replaced or re-edited, and many of the textual materials, problems, exercises, and case questions have been revised, supplemented, or updated. This book is part of the Context and Practice Series, edited by Michael Hunter Schwartz, Professor of Law and Dean of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law.

I don't have a choice of textbook, because students don't get to pick. If you are a professor looking at this book, please look elsewhere. This text is 60% relevant material and 40% condescending fluff. I estimate that 40% of the time inspend reading this book is a complete waste of my time and there is no way to skip the irrelevant material. I implore professors to look elsewhere. There are many superior options.Product details

Contracts A Context and Practice Casebook Michael Hunter Schwartz Adrian Walters 9781611635546 Books Reviews
This is easily the worst casebook I've had to purchase in law school. I guess the authors tried to make this more "hands on" compared to other books where its mostly just cases and notes...but my god, it is painful to read! They break it down so much that it's confusing and nearly impossible to put together. They have exercises and questions throughout the book but never explain the answers or discuss them! What's the point of asking a question if they're not going to discuss it afterwards?
For example, the beginning of the book, they give one sentence examples and tells you whether that sentence is regulated by common law or the UCC; then it asks you to tell the difference between common law and UCC regulations, but it never discusses either (common or UCC) and never gives an explanation to their answers! If you have this book, you should pray that you have a decent professor that can actually explain what the authors are trying to say. If not, you're better off buying another book along with this one.
New. Great condition.
In perfect condition.
Possibly the best Contracts textbook out there. Definitely made for first year law students or anyone new to the subject of Contracts and law.
Good quality
Chock full of spelling errors! Aside from the glaring distractions, the casebook itself isn’t great at helping solidify contract theories. I wish we’d used a different textbook.
